Each of our special events features a curated class (often led by a local expert), followed by plenty of free play time for kids to explore as they wish!

Big Feelings, Big Behaviors

Wednesday, June 11 at 9:30 am

Jasmine Berger, LCSW from Bud to Bloom Play Therapy will help parents make sense of big toddler feelings while sharing playful tools and calming techniques to use at home. Little ones will enjoy two readings - Audrey Nixon's story about unconditional parental love and Kelley Lamm's story about overcoming storm anxiety (plus special guest bulldog Olive).

Sportsmanship & Grit

Tuesday, June 17th at 4:30 pm

Stacy McCann, LCSW, LBA will share practical strategies to help children develop perseverance and grit through everyday moments. Author Paige Hulsey will bring the story of “A Bad Day of Baseball” to life, following Jack’s relatable journey as he learns to keep going despite setbacks.

Mini Boards & Masterpieces

Thursday, June 26th at 10 am

Charcu in the Lou will help little ones will assemble their own delicious charcuterie boards with vibrant fruits, tasty cheeses and fun snacks! The fun doesn’t stop there! Chill Mom Craft Co. will have a themed craft that kids can dive into or take home for later.

Picky Eating

Monday, July 14 at 9:30 am

Our expert, Cierra Crowley with Bite Sized Wellness, will share practical tips for caregivers to ease mealtime challenges. Local author Simonne Kimble will engage kids in the story of "Picky Mya" who learns to try new foods. Wrap up with a "Tastebud Tower Building" activity, where kids stack edible art with fruits, veggies, and snacks to explore new flavors!

Parenting Resources from Your School District

Friday, August 1st at 9:30 am

Elizabeth Shook will share insights into how the free Parents As Teachers program helps children develop, empowers parents, and provides personalized support to meet the unique needs of each family. Plus, author and retired principal Aaron Wills will do a lively reading of “We Mix Up Our ABCs” and offer advice on partnering with your child’s teachers and school staff.

Big Sibling Prep

Monday, September 29th at 9:30 am

Is your family growing? Join us for a Big Sibling Prep workshop designed to help your child adjust to life with a new baby! Licensed play therapist Jamie Heimos will share expert parenting tips to encourage connection, reduce sibling rivalry, and support your child’s emotional well-being during this big transition. Kids will also enjoy a special storytime featuring "A Tail of Empathy" by local author and speech therapist Brittany Musholt—a heartwarming tale about the meaning of family.
